Refreshed and Renewed

Last week's retreat was so refreshing! This is an annual event and I don't get to see some of the attendees in between retreats so it was great to renew old friendships. The grounds are both beautiful and serene. Here are some pictures.

During the retreat I finalized my new snowman design:

Did some stitching:

and some doodling:

And now back to the usual day to day here is this week's Diva Challenge to use Flux, one of the original tangles, that was just covered in the Zentangle newsletter. I had previously only learned what the newsletter refers to as the "Rick Version" of flux and found Maria's version a bit harder to wrap my pen around. I decided to use a string based on the two versions of flux so this one is truly a monotangle.

I hope that each of you can find space in your life this week to refresh and renew even if it can only be for a short time.

To Everything, Turn, Turn, Turn

This week will be a short post. I'm getting ready to go on a retreat where I will be able to stitch and doodle to my heart's content. No cooking or housework required! But first, here is my response to this week's Diva Challenge to use a spiral as the string for the tile. I did this during a meeting today...yeah multitasking!

Going Green

It's been a couple of weeks since I posted so we have some catching up to do. First, the reason for my web absence was that I was busy designing and preparing kits for this new design.

These are quick to stitch and make nice ornaments. Or put one on the front of a greeting card for someone special. I have a couple of other new things in the pipeline so watch this space.

The Muster Mixer challenge this month was to combine Mak-rah-mee and BTL Joos. I had a hard time coming up with anything approaching unique on this one. But it was lots of fun doodling in my sketch book.

Diva Challenge 207 was to use Sandy Hunter's tangle Unbatz. I spent hours playing with this. The possibilities are endless. But here is one I pinned down on a tile.

Diva Challenge 208 was a Duotangle, Cubine and Pokeroot. Another fun challenge.

Of course this week is a St. Patrick's themed challenge. I like celtic knots so when I saw Cruze on TanglePatterns.com I knew it had to be part of my tile. The metallics don't really come across in this scan like they do in real life but you can get the idea.
