I don't know how it works in other states, but here in California we have 17 State Propositions on the ballot this year, plus 2 County and 5 City Propositions. And then there are the offices to vote for. I've been working on my ballot since the end of August and was so relieved to have it done and in the mail on Monday! Now I can sit back and tangle ;)
The Diva's challenge this week was to use Leaves/Autumn as a theme. I used the Diva's method of tracing around some leaves I found on my walk. But I then cut mine out, pasted them to my tile and used them as a mask while I spritzed watercolor on the background. I'm going to get some low-tack glue for next time as it was a bit tricky to get all of the mask back off! El Prado was a new tangle to me and I really like it.

You have chosen lovely tangles to fill the leaves, I love the result on this beautiful background.
ReplyDeleteDorita, I am so envious of you having that ballot in already. I was waiting to get everything in the mail, and finally got the huge book of Propositions in the mail yesterday. Now I'm ready to sit back and read it all except for the local stuff I've already read up on. Whew!
ReplyDeleteYour Autumn Leaves are wonderful. You picked some wonderful tangles for those. I like your spritzed watercolor background for them too.
Some lovely leaves you show us here!!! Succes with the (for us Dutchmen) complicated voting.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have tangled your leaves. The color in the delicate back ground sets them off beautifully. I love your Inktober drawings as well, some of those tangles I haven't met yet. Very nice work - thank you for sharing! And just by the way, I'm jealous that you have your ballot in already. We don't have quite as many propositions this time around as you do, but I'm trying to get them all read too. Our local elections in some cases, are getting as combative as the federal ones. Sad to see all this horrible bickering this time around :(
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Love the background and always love sand swirl.
ReplyDeleteLovely Autumn tile, sweet background!
ReplyDeleteI love the effect you've achieved here, almost looks like the tangled leaves are a separate piece of paper (you could try that - stick white leaves onto your coloured background) The tangles are lovely and it is a lovely contrast with the colour.
ReplyDeleteYour autumn tile is wonderful delicate!
ReplyDeleteThose leaves are really pretty with that sprayed background. Nice idea. My ballot is in already too. Somehow though, I don't feel relieved.
