I was missing my son though (he lives in Taipei) and was putting together a box to ship to him. I decided to buy him a new go cup and tangle it. A little tangley love with his morning cuppa :)
I also finished the ATCs for the swap for the Stacked and Tangled group. Here are the last four:
The remainder of the summer the Diva has lined up guest bloggers to set the challenges. First up is Jen Crutchfield who set a color challenge. I chose to limit my color palette to 3 as Jen suggested by using pink and purple pens on a moss green tile. Since most of the pens I used were metallic it didn't scan very well but you get the idea.
Tangles Used: Quipple, Lazy Eights, Sand Swirl, Organza, and Logjam |
Go share some art love with someone and brighten their day!
All tiles are so pretty - lots of lovely tangles executed beautifully!
ReplyDeleteNice and bright for the diva challenge. Love your stacked and tangled ATC's too. I can't wait

ReplyDeleteGreat work!
Lovely work :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the tangled mug in red. Which pattern did you use? You have been busy
ReplyDeleteThat is Kandysnake by Vicki Murray which is on TanglePatterns.com. I really love the way it creates depth almost on its own.
DeleteI love the tangled mug! Did you use a sharpie?
ReplyDeleteI think I could have used a Sharpie. But the pen I used is called Lumocolor by Staedtler. I picked up a small set at Staples several months ago and have found them useful to draw on nonporous surfaces. Nice, bold colors too.
Deletevery nice work
ReplyDeleteLove your tangled cup :-) Your other work is pretty too.
ReplyDeleteNice work on the ATCs. Like the combination of tangles. I particularly like the one with Msst. Your challenge tile is a unique combination of colors. Unfortunately tried to get a larger view as could not make out the one pink area that well. Was not successful.
ReplyDeleteJust for you I uploaded a higher resolution picture ;) Some of the purple flowers in the Lazy Eights section are really hard to see even at the higher resolution.
DeleteDid you color the moss green tile yourself before adding the tangles? I've been doing some of that, but then having trouble finding a good tool/pen to use to tangle on top of the color. I either need to change the pens or the medium I use for the color. Yours came out very well.
ReplyDeleteI bought a multi-pack of colored cardstock at Michaels. (OK. I bought 4 of them!) So that is where the green tile came from. I also recently bought some Copic multiliners to play with. They seem to have a different inking system so I'm hoping they will play better with multimedia. If you plan on trying some yourself I found that the width of inked line is much finer for the Copic than for the equivalently numbered Micron.
DeleteWonderful work!
ReplyDeleteLovely. Great work on the uneven surface of the cup.
ReplyDeleteLove that green background with the pink metalic pen. Would not have thought of that color combination...but it's very effective! Good luck with your swap...i've never done one, but have been tempted. That type of thing makes you stretch yourself creatively I think.
ReplyDeleteIt's an awesome tile. I'm sold on that shade of green with the colors you used! A beautiful piece of artwork. Sarah.
ReplyDeleteAll really beautifully done and each has it's own personality! I really like your Diva challenge with the moss green tile - unusual colour, but though it doesn't show well, I bet the metallic really glows on it!
