Oak galls on an oak tree |
During the retreat I finalized my new snowman design:
Did some stitching:
and some doodling:
And now back to the usual day to day here is this week's Diva Challenge to use Flux, one of the original tangles, that was just covered in the Zentangle newsletter. I had previously only learned what the newsletter refers to as the "Rick Version" of flux and found Maria's version a bit harder to wrap my pen around. I decided to use a string based on the two versions of flux so this one is truly a monotangle.
I hope that each of you can find space in your life this week to refresh and renew even if it can only be for a short time.
Nicely done
ReplyDeleteLove your Diva tile. Glad you enjoyed your retreat. Looks like a very peaceful place. I think I would spend most of my time under that gorgeous tree.
ReplyDeleteLooked up oak gall. If those are on that beautiful tree I won't be sitting there.
ReplyDeleteLOL! The gall were on a Valley Oak. The other is one of many (although the most magnificent) Live Oaks. I don't know if the Live Oak get gall since they are green year round (hence the name) so you are probably safe.
DeleteBeautiful photo's; I'm glad your retreat was good for you. I like your tile with the two fluxes.
ReplyDeleteI have retreat envy! And love your Flux! Axxx
ReplyDeleteGreat job on both versions of Flux!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like your retreat was a lovely time to just relax and let those creative juices flow. What a beautiful place! Your version of both flux's is very good. Thanks for sharing your workshop work as well.
ReplyDeletesuch a great post, and how wonderful for you to have that time of relaxation and creativity. I love the piece featuring water color. It's so peaceful. Good job on the flux challenge!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous setting, and how it fueled your creativity! Sounds divine! I love your watercolor and your Flux tile is very serene. I also really like your tile with the plaid looking tangle (not sure the pattern) and the Beadlines. I'm a fan of that look!
ReplyDeleteReally fresh approach to using the two Flux patterns. Lovely pictures from your retreat, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful assortment of creative pieces...gorgeous needlework and watercolor! The Flux challenge is beautifully done...I love how you made each fit into their shape, so clever!
ReplyDeleteYour Flux monotangle using both versions is very cleverly done. You look like you are a very busy lady with all kinds of creativity going on. Loved to see both the stitchery AND the doodles. Both are well done.
